Operation Christmas Child - Columbus The Power of a Simple Shoebox
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children living in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes and the good news of God’s love! This ministry of Samaritan’s Purse provides an opportunity for people of ALL ages to be involved in a world-wide mission that focuses on the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus Christ – God’s greatest gift. Along with the shoebox gift, millions of children are given gospel booklets in their own language. Children are also invited to participate in the Mailbox Club, a follow-up correspondence discipleship course. In 2006, Operation Christmas Child collected 7.6 million shoeboxes for children in 95 countries.
The Columbus Area Team
The Columbus Area Team is an organized group of volunteers who mobilize and assist individuals, churches, schools, and groups to become actively involved in fulfilling the Great Commission through Operation Christmas Child. Our volunteers are organized into several different teams: Prayer Team, Church Relations Team, Community Relations Team, Media Relations Team, and the Collection Network. We are currently building all teams, so if you have a heart for children around the world and would like information on how you can become part of the Columbus Area Team, please click on the "Request Info" link on the left.
